Alan King is the author of ''Drift'' (Willow Books, 2012). He works as a communications specialist for a national nonprofit organization and is senior editor at ''Words Beats Life'', a global hip hip journal.  King has taught at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts and the DC Creative Writing Workshop at Charles Hart Middle School. He is a Cave Canem Fellow, an alumnus of the VONA Workshops sponsored by Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation, and an MFA candidate in the Stonecoast Low-Residency Program at the University of Southern Maine.

Alan King is the author of Point Blank (Silver Birch Press, 2016) and DRIFT (Willow Books, 2012). He's also a husband, father, videographer and journalist who blogs about art and social issues at alanwking.com.
