A DC native, Sharlie West was in the writing program at George Washington University and has taken classes at the Bethesda Writer's Center. She has published a novel, Maybe Tomorrow (1981), short stories, and four poetry chapbooks: House of Bones (2005), Sea Born, Bayou Moon and On the Avenue (2006). Her poems have appeared in The Innisfree Poetry Journal, Passager, The Baltimore Review, Gargoyle and other journals. West lives in Silver Spring, Maryland with her husband, Jim.
