Lane Jennings was born in 1944, raised in the Chicago area, attended Williams College and Harvard, and has lived in the DC area since 1970. He was an editor and writer for the World Future Society from 1976 to 2015, and published a number of poems about future possibilities in his collection Virtual Futures (OtherWorlds Press, 1996). A more general collection of his verse entitled Fabrications was published by Black Buzzard Press in 1998. Since 1981 several of his poems and translations have appeared in local publications. He has also edited two anthologies of verse A Clutch of Clover (1993) and A Flash of Bright Air (2001) by the Iona Poets (a gathering of writers over 55) who live in the Tenleytown neighborhood of DC.
