Katharine Zadravec (1932-1989)

Katharine Zadravec's collection of poems How to Travel was published by SCOP publications in 1986. She was also the author of two chapbooks, Shewski's Ladder:Poems by Katharine Zadravec, Photographs by Sally Troyer (The Williams Primrose Press, 1980) and Imitations, based on the saint stories for children she'd read as a child (Sheet and Word Press, 1989.)

Born in Winnepeg, Canada, she attended Manhattanville College and worked as a reporter and, later, a columnist for The Washington Post. She served at the Folger Shakespeare Library as a coordinator for the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction and stayed on at the Folger to run the Emily Dickinson Centenary Conference and Exhibition in 1986.
