Ethan Fischer (1941-2011)

Ethan Fischer (1942-2011) published one book of poetry, called Beached in the Hourglass (2004), several plays, and several essays and interviews in journals nationwide. He practiced neighborhood law for a few years before becoming a traveling actor and playwright. He worked with the Bear Republic Theater on the West Coast, then with the Video Buddies Gross National Product in Washington, D.C. He then went on to be the editor for the Antietam Review and co-producer of the Rumsey Radio Hour. Fischer also ran children’s poetry workshops, directed the annual West Virginia Fiction Competition and taught literature and creative writing at Shepherd University.
