Davi Walders is the author of Women Against Tyranny: Poems of Resistance During the Holocaust (Clemson University Digital Press, 2011). Her awards include grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Puffin Foundation, the Maryland Arts Commission, The Alden B. Dow Foundation, Hadassah of Greater Washington, and the Luce Foundation, and fellowships to the Ragdale Foundation, Blue Mountain Center, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Her poetry has appeared in more than 200 publications.
For many years, Walders has been very involved with education issues and has reviewed proposals for the Department of Ed., HHS, and other agencies. She was an Education Policy Fellow with the Select Education Subcommittee of the House of Representatives from 1980-1981.
Walders developed and directs the Vital Signs Poetry Project at the National Institutes of Health and its Children's Inn for patients and parents of children with life-threatening illnesses, funded by the Witter Bynner Foundation for Poetry.
