Carolyn Joyner

Carolyn Joyner is a former WritersCorps and River of Words Project instructor, and has been awarded fellowships from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and Cave Canem. She has received two Artist Fellowship grants from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, and during 2010, co-hosted “Poet’s Corner,” on Pacifica’s local FM radio station, WPFW. She has been featured in Obsidian, Amistad, Mass Ave Review, and the anthologies Gathering Ground, and Beyond the Frontiers. She has a Master of Arts degree in creative writing from The Johns Hopkins University and lives in Washington, DC.
